Nirmal K. Kilambi, MD, FACS, is a board-certified urologist and fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Also, the official urologist of the Arkansas Razorbacks. Born and raised in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Dr. Kilambi brings more than 20 years of experience to Northwest Arkansas Urology Associates, with locations in Springdale and Rogers, Arkansas.
At Northwest Arkansas Urology Associates, Dr. Kilambi oversees strategic planning, clinic operations, financial decision analysis, and negotiation efforts for new projects in addition to seeing patients.
Dr. Kilambi completed his undergraduate education at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville before earning his medical degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock, Arkansas. He completed his urology residency at the University of Mississippi in Jackson, Mississippi, in 2001.
With a passion for providing exceptional urological care, Dr. Kilambi prioritizes staying at the forefront of innovations in his specialty. In 2021, he became the first physician in Arkansas to receive the Surgeon of Excellence designation for GreenLight™ laser therapy, a minimally invasive treatment to remove overgrown prostate tissue.
Dr. Kilambi also has specialized training in the robotic da Vinci® surgery system. He uses minimally invasive techniques to perform stone surgery through percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL), and ureteroscopy. Dr. Kilambi also offers Coloplast and Boston Scientific penile implants.
In addition, Dr. Kilambi treats urinary incontinence in women through a wide range of procedures, including the Obtryx™ sling system and Interstim and Axonics® sacral neuromodulation.
On a personal note, Dr. Kilambi met his wife, Cherie, when they both attended the University of Arkansas. The couple married while Dr. Kilambi was in medical school and went on to have three wonderful children. As staples in the community, the family is proud that their children attend the same Fayetteville public schools that Dr. Kilambi once attended.
When he isn’t working, Dr. Kilambi’s passions include fitness, reading, and health and wellness. His interest in musculoskeletal mobility encouraged him to launch Arkansas Biomechanics & Rehabilitation in Johnson, Arkansas.
